Faceted Search

Stellate Faceted Search is a type of search filter that you can use to narrow down your search results quickly. You can select one or more search filters (facets) and see the results, and you can also add additional filters and see the updated results.

Our Faceted Search allows you to search and filter across multiple dimensions at the same time. This makes it easy for you to find the exact information you are looking for, without having to sift through irrelevant results.

Key benefits of Stellate Faceted Search include:

  • The ability to see how many active filters are applied.
  • Ability to search within facets and see truncated lists with “See More” options.
  • Ability to select multiple facet filters and see the number of active filters.
  • Quick filtering of results as facets are selected.

The faceted search experience is consistent across different pages in the Stellate dashboard. You can apply filters on one page, then navigate to another page while keeping those filters active. To use Faceted Search:

View Filters

In the Stellate dashboard, the faceted search filters are located in a left-hand sidebar.

Set the Timeframe

Click the Timeframe option in the left navigation and select the time period you want to cover from hours up to 30 days. You can easily see the timeframe while selecting filter options. You can also clear the timeframe with a couple of clicks and it will return to the default.

Apply the Filters

Once the filters are open, select from various facet categories like operation name, error code, and more. As filters are selected, the results on the right-hand side will instantly update to show only the content matching the applied filters. The current filters are:

  • Operation Name
  • Response Status
  • Error Kind
  • Type
  • Field
  • Error Code
  • Client, Version
  • Cache Status
  • Scope
  • Custom Attributes
Additional filters will be added as needed.

View Active Filters

The number of active filters is displayed at the top of the filter sidebar, making it easy for users to see how many filters are currently applied. In the prior image, you can see the small x2 icon next to Operation Name showing the number of filters.

You can easily clear any filter option that you select with a click.

Stellate provides an intuitive way for users to quickly find the content they’re looking for by applying multiple filters simultaneously.
