We are excited to share that Stellate has achieved SOC 2 Type 2 certification, marking another significant milestone in our commitment to data security and operational excellence. This certification demonstrates our dedication to upholding the highest standards of security and privacy for our customers.
What’s the difference? Type 1 vs Type 2
Earlier this year, we announced our SOC 2 Type 1 certification, so what's new now? Both Type 1 and Type 2 certifications demonstrate a company's commitment to data security and privacy, but there are key differences between the two. Type 1 certification evaluates the design of a company's controls at a specific point in time, providing assurance that the controls are suitably designed to meet the relevant criteria.
On the other hand, SOC 2 Type 2 certification goes a step further by assessing the effectiveness of these controls over a period of time, typically a minimum of six months. This means that Type 2 certification not only confirms the design of controls but also verifies their operational effectiveness. Both certifications are valuable in demonstrating a company's commitment to security, with Type 2 providing a more comprehensive evaluation of ongoing security practices.
What does SOC 2 Type 2 Certification mean for our customers?
At Stellate, we have always prioritized security and data safety from the beginning. Achieving SOC 2 Type 2 certification is a testament to our ongoing commitment to maintaining a secure environment for our customers' data.
